Failure to Appear for Jury Duty
What to do if you missed your appearance date
Contact the Jury Services office to schedule a new date that you'll be able to make.  Call (707) 463-4663 or (707) 961-6288 to request a new date, or e-mail us at

If you fail to contact the court

A prospective juror who fails to appear for jury service or otherwise contact the court, will be immediately resummoned for a new appearance date.

If the juror fails to appear at this second summons date or contact the court, the juror will be ordered to appear at the courthouse to show cause why he or she should not be held in "contempt of court", punishable by fine, incarceration, or both.

At the OSC (Order to Show Cause) hearing, if the juror is found in contempt of court, the judge may impose a fine up to $1,500.
