Adult Drug Court Program
Adult Drug Court is a Court-supervised, comprehensive drug-alcohol treatment program for non-violent offenders.The goal of the program is to help the offender achieve total abstinence from drugs and alcohol, with the offender taking full responsibility for program completion. The focus of the Drug Court is on replacing addictive behaviors with a clean and sober lifestyle.

Voluntary Program
The Adult Drug Court is a voluntary, 18-month minimum, multi-phase program for non-violent offenders found eligible by the Drug Court team. Eligible offenders are referred to the Behavioral Health Department's Division of Substance Use Disorders Treatment (SUDT) to determine suitability for the OPTIONS Program (Opportunities Provided to Interested Offenders Needing Sobriety.) Eligible offenders are also referred to the Public Defender or private defense counsel for explanation of the post-plea requirements.

- Individual Treatment Plan
- Process Groups
- Education Groups
- Regular Court Appearances
- Weekly and Random Chemical and Alcohol Testing
- Regular Attendance at 12-Step or other meetings
- Free time activities geared for enjoying a drug-free life

Incentives and Sanctions
Incentives and sanctions are directly linked to the willingness of the offender to participate in their treatment program. Efforts to be in compliance with the expectations of the Adult Drug Court are recognized. Incentives are awarded for phase completion and for other accomplishments.
Sanctions are used by the judge to keep participants on track. These may be anything from writing essays to increased program requirements to time in jail. The number of sanctions received is monitored and may be grounds for dismissal from the program.
Confidentiality
Drug Court participants must sign a Release of Information, authorizing Drug Court professionals to collaborate in developing and implementing a treatment plan.
Graduation
Graduation will occur upon the successful completion of the final phase of the program. The graduation date is determined by the Drug Court judge.
Dismissal of charges will be granted upon successful completion of all treatment phase requirements, a meeting with the judge to review all active cases, fees and fines, and notification from the Probation Department of no other offenses.
