New Ukiah Courthouse Photography Contest

Professional, amateur and hobbyist photographers are invited to submit photos to be displayed in the new Ukiah courthouse

Deadline for submitting photos: July 31, 2026

Professional, amateur and hobbyist photographers are invited to submit photos by the deadline.  Contestants must be Mendocino County residents.  No late submissions will be considered. Please note that the photographer will be donating the photos for display.  The Court cannot purchase the photos but will be responsible for sizing and framing and will hang them in the new courthouse for all to appreciate.

Photos may be in black and white or in color.  

  • If you are using a digital camera, please provide a copy of the photo and a digital file for each submittal. 
  • If you are not using a digital camera, please just provide the photo.  If your photo is selected, we will need the negative.

Submitting your photo

Give each photograph a title (e.g. Point Arena Lighthouse at Sunset) and include your name and town you live in.  Also include the category in which you want your photo to be considered.

To submit in person or by mail, deliver to Mendocino County Superior Court, Photography Contest, 100 N. State Street, Room 303, Ukiah, CA  95482.  To submit digital photos, please email to court.administration@mendocino.courts.ca.gov.  Please only submit one photo in each email.  If you are submitting multiple photos, please submit each photo separately. 

Judging Photos

A panel of judges from local museums and art schools will rate the photographs.  Once submittals have been reviewed, all contestants will be notified of the results.  The top two photos in each category will be sized and reproduced to be displayed in the public areas of the courthouse with a small wall plaque containing the title of the photo and the photographer’s name.
